A reclusive, procrastinating man who said he was too shy to get around to thanking the people who made his life worth living has left 5,000 thank you notes — all signed, sealed, and stamped, in his will.
The late Alconi Willmore, 83, will never get to hear his family and friends say “you’re welcome.”

“He instructed me to put them in the mail the day he died, and I did,” says Coleman D. Norgloss, Willmore’s attorney.
“He was a very gracious man. Some of the notes are four and five pages long, filled with long passages that lyrically express his deepest gratitude.”
